As defined by
The LCMS
Foundation, Christian stewardship is the free and joyous activity of the child of God and God’s family, the church, in managing all of life and life’s resources for God’s purposes.
We are familiar with tithing to our Lord from our income. We do this joyous act out of love for our Lord and to support His continuing ministry on this earth. A Christian Estate Plan accomplishes this same attitude after we are taken to our heavenly home.

Do you have a
will, a durable power of attorney for health care and one for financial matters? Have you named guardians for your children should you die? Are you happy with your current plans? These are questions which none of us like to think about. But taking care of these matters is part of being a responsible steward of the blessings with which God has entrusted you.
7 out of 10 people do not have a will. That means that only 30% of the people have an estate plan in place. In addition, 70% of the 30% having a will need it to be updated. That means that only 9% of the people have a will that will accomplish what they desire. The common excuses for being one of the 91% not having an accurate will are:
•Busy with Life
•Too Little Property
•Too Expensive
•Don’t Like Legal Documents
•Unable to Know Future
•Don’t Plan to Die |
|
Christ Our Rock Lutheran High School invites families to create their Christian Estate Plan.
This is a free service provided by CORLHS to assist our families in accomplishing essential planning. You will be walked through the process of setting up a will, trust, or other documents to ensure your children are cared for and your wishes fulfilled. This is very important for all families. Even small estates should have these documents prepared or the State of Illinois will decide what happens to your children and assets, not you.
|
Through the Christian Estate Planning process you will:
1.Write a statement of faith
2.Make a plan to provide for your family and transfer assets
3.Make a gift plan for your favorite ministries/charities
This process will create or update the following items plus more:
1.Will or living trust
2.Beneficiary designations
3.Personal property list
4.Power of attorneys for Financial & Health Care affairs
5.Farm/business transfer plan
|
|
There is no cost for our services.
The only cost to participants will be those incurred when the attorney drafts the necessary legal documents. We have made arrangements with several local attorneys who have agreed to draft the above referenced documents for a very reasonable cost.
|
All this will be accomplished through a four step process.
•Discovery - A survey gathers information on your family, assets, and stewardship goals
•Proposal - Multiple plans are drafted to best meet you goals and objectives
•Summary - A plan is selected and drawn up as a comprehensive summary
•Implementation - You (we are willing to go with you) will meet with professional advisers to legally
draft and complete your plan
